I Wish...

I wish I had the courage and the discipline to participate in the South Africa project, because I love to meet people from different cultures and learn about all the differences there and the similarities. I want to in a way, but then I don't. XD A stranger living in my house for two weeks in a row doesn't sound very appealing to me, even though I get to travel all the way down to South Africa in return. But all the children with hiv and aids we're gonna help... That would be amazing! AARGH! XD

Oh well.

I'm going to a friend's house today, since she just turned 18. ^^ I'm expecting lots of yummy food, Pauline, because of that mother of yours! O_O XD

It's actually a project our school has every year, together with a school in South Africa. Darn, it's such a great opportunity to practise English as well! T__T Helping childern with hiv and aids is actually new for this year, though. But I don't think I'm outgoing enough to be chosen, since only four people can participate. Good English is a requirement, but not the only one. And I hear they are pretty religious and conservative (I'm not being prejudiced here, it's what my friend who participated in the project said to me. And South Africa is very infamous for their racial segregation as well, I think. Surely you've heard of it?), so I'm not sure if I could get along with people like that, eh.

I'm kind of starting to learn about everything in Africa as we speak.

Our school does something similar, but instead of sending students there, we raise money for our sponsered families and we buy the families things like animals, crop seeds, immunizations, etc.
